Straight from the shores of Japan to Singapore comes Yui Makino! In Singapore for the first time ever to perform, Yui will be making a special appearance at EOY as well as holding a separate musical concert that evening.
A piano player since she was four, Yui made her debut as a singer in 2005 with Omna Magni, the ending theme song of TV anime Sosei no Aquarion and produced by Yoko Kanno. In April the same year, she also made her debut as a voice actress, starring as heroine Sakura in Tsubasa Chronicle on NHK Educational TV.
In 2005, Yui released Amrita, the theme song of movie Tsubasa Chronicle: Torikagono Kunino Himegimi, as well as Undine, the opening theme of TV Tokyo anime ARIA the ANIMATION , which was coupled with its inserted song Symphony.
In 2006, she released two songs from another TV Tokyo anime ARIA the NATURAL, namely the theme song Euphoria and insert song Amefuribana.
In 2008, Yui released a new single Spirale, opening theme of TV Tokyo anime ARIA the ORIGINATION, coupled with the anime’s insert song Yokogao. Yui Makino released her second album Makino Yui in March 2008.
In 2009, Yui expanded her activities overseas. She was invited to France to perform at the Japan Expo, the largest Japanese cultural festival in Europe. Over 6000 fans gathered to cheer Yui onstage. In September, Yui also visited the New York Anime Festival as a special guest of honour.
In December 2009, Yui will be coming to EOY 2009 as a guest artiste and will be performing a few songs during the day event, and will also hold her own musical concert in the evening. Tickets to her concert start from $49, and all tickets to her concert will be given free entry to EOY's day event.
Paris, New York, LA and now Singapore! Lolita fashion has grown rapidly in popularity over the past years, and for the first time ever, Singaporean audiences will now have a chance to see a fashion runway dedicated solely to this beautiful, frilly fashion.
Featuring outfits sponsored by well-known Lolita brand Baby the Stars Shine Bright, this fashion show will be an excellent introduction to the Sweet Lolita fashion, and will also give fans a glimpse of Baby’s latest lines.

Solo Cosplay Competition
Register for our solo cosplay competition, and win a return trip to Tokyo via ANA! Contestants will be required do 3 poses on stage, and the judging criteria will be based on costume design and stage confidence. Winners will be decided by the audience via SMS voting.
Registration is free. To register, please make sure that you do it between 10 am to 11 am at Drama Centre, at Daiyaku's booth.
10:00 am : Solo Cosplay registration opens at Daiyaku Booth
11:00 am : Closure of registrations
12:45 pm : Finalists to report at Daiyaku Booth
2:00 pm : Solo Cosplayers to pose on stage
SMS Voting for Solo & Group Cosplay Competitions
For EOY 2009, you will decide who will be the winner for our solo and group cosplay competitions through SMS voting. The best solo cosplayer will win a return air ticket to Tokyo via ANA, and cosplay groups will win $1,500+ worth of cash vouchers from Kinokuniya, Black Alice, Pan in the Box and Lens Hub, as well as fragrance hampers from Luxasia. Trophies will also be awarded to winners!
